Top Fiddlers have been invited to compete in an all new format for the top prize and title of Canadian Grand Master Fiddler. Special guests include, Champion Fiddler Don Reed, backed by South Mountain, one of Canada's top country bands!
The Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championship was first held in 1990. It is held every year in Ottawa at the end of August. Approximately 30 fiddlers from across Canada are invited to compete.
The Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association (CGMFA) is a non-profit corporation run by volunteers that is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Canadian fiddling and promoting Canadian traditional fiddling.

Centrepointe Theatre is also host venue to shows that are produced and performed by
community presenters. The largest of these, Orpheus Musical Theatre Society and the Savoy
Society of Ottawa, each present musical productions throughout the season performed by
outstanding local, community talent.

Centrepointe Theatre Offers $5 Tickets to High School Students
(Ottawa, ON – 6 June 2008) – Centrepointe Theatre is pleased to be
the first local arts organization to offer eyeGO to the Arts, an innovative
national program that encourages youth to become audience members in the
performing arts. The program aims for high school students to see the theatre
as an entertainment option – and an affordable one. Starting with Fall
2008 events, participating presenters at Centrepointe Theatre have committed to
selling best-available seats to high school students for $5, up to 5% of capacity.
This represents approximately 100 event dates thus far. These tickets are made
available as soon as single tickets go on sale.

Front and Centre 2008-2009 Season Announcement
(Ottawa, ON – 22 May 2008) – Front and Centre, Centrepointe Theatre′s
professional presentation and membership program, announced its second year of
star-quality programming today. Twenty-five exciting events of varied genres are
included in this announcement, spanning September 2008 to June 2009. Additional
events will be announced throughout the season.

At the 2009 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards on March 12th, Centrepointe Theatre took top honours in the Performing Arts Centre of the Year award (under 1500 capacity) category.
